Game of the week 09/26/2015

4U Nationals vs 4U Red Sox

The 4U Nationals sent 7 batters to the plate scoring 7 runs in the process, immediately putting The Red Sox defense back on their heels. Bryce Gilbert got things rolling in the t-1st with a base hit, while Ethan Roseberry singled in the first RBI for The Nats. Divya Singh and Addison Pickett each added an RBI base hit to increase the lead, before Vasilios Kissal added 4 more with a home run. Not to be outdone, The Red Sox got hot right off the bat in their half of the inning as Leah Offutt, Mason Kellar, and Ryan Ostrowski each singled to load the bases for BJ Williams, who drive in The Red Sox first run of the game. Jamie Belonia capped The Red Sox answer with a HR knotting things up at 7. The Nationals’ bats stayed hot in the t-2nd with back-to-back singles by Michael Hall and William Pickett to load the bases. The hit parade didn’t stop Roseberry and Singh added to their RBI total, as did teammate Addison Pickett with an RBI single. Vasilios Kissal continued swinging the hot bat as he again staked his team out to a 7-run lead with his second grand slam. The Red Sox did not wait long to climb back into the game using the same small ball formula that worked so well in the first inning. Leah Offutt, Kellar and Ostrowski put ducks on the pond for BJ Wiliams, who started his team down the comeback trail. Dominic Sheehan and Leah’s brother, Noah Offutt, brought their team to within 4 runs. Jamie Belonia again blasted another shot to tie things at 14 with a tie maker, walk off HR.
